Irish Solo Dancers

Solo Dancing

Dancers learn the iconic moves of Irish step dancing, and have the opportunity to compete if they wish. We start out with simpler steps that develop the dancer's technique, then progress to harder steps as the dancer's skill develops.

Both soft shoe and hard shoe are taught, including modern steps as well as traditional dances.

Team Dancing

Ceili and Figure Teams

Ceili is a team form of soft shoe Irish dancing, featuring complex formations with four or more dancers. We teach both the traditional team dances as well as modern "Choreographies".

Dancers develop a strong work ethic and team mentality by working together for a common goal.

Performance Troupe

Performance Troupe

Our performance classes teach Riverdance-style show routines which are performed at various events throughout the year. These events give dancers a fun and non-competitive outlet for their dancing.

Dancers will develop their stage confidence and gain valuable performance experience.

Benefits of Irish Dancing

There is more to Irish dancing that just steps and pretty costumes! The dance form develops:

  • Overall fitness
  • Balance and co-ordination
  • Flexibility
  • Muscle strength & tone

Irish dance also develops skills and personality traits that benefit a dancer throughout their life, such as:

  • Confidence and self belief
  • Sportsmanship
  • Respect
  • Determination and drive to achieve personal goals
  • Team work and team spirit
  • Memory
  • Listening skills & following direction

Time & Locations

Both our locations have their own off-street parking and a kitchen area for parents to wait and socialise while class is in progress. The halls are large and spacious, giving dancers plenty of room to practice & work on their steps. Floors are wooden and covered with protective matting during class.

Our Glenelg North hall is also equipped with mirrors, and has a small playground outside for siblings to utilise.

Don't forget, new dancers get their first class FREE!
