The Roberts Academy recently held it’s 10th Southern Stars Championship! The event ran over a sunny September weekend at Immanuel College, attracting dancers from around Adelaide. We offered Championships across all age groups and a full grades syllabus. We also ran our “Treble Reel Championships” – judged by all three adjudicators and always a crowd favourite.

With less than two weeks before the National Championships, it gave everyone some valuable last minute stage practice before the big event. Championship dancers were even able to video their set dances – a valuable tool for some final pre-nationals practice, and a lovely keepsake to look back on.

Our RAID family did a great job of putting the event together. Mums, dads & even the dancers themselves all pitched in to help prepare and run the event, so a huge thanks to everyone for their support – a feis can’t run without volunteers!

Our dancers had a great weekend too. We had six Championship wins, lots of gradings and some personal bests. Results aside, it was fantastic to see the ongoing progress and improvement in our dancers, and the camaraderie and support that they showed each other. As the last Championship event in the Adelaide calendar, it was definitely a great high note to end on.
